My research interests fall broadly into the categories of adolescent health and nutrition. Currently, I am leading several related large-scale systematic reviews looking at: i) the dietary intake and practices of adolescent girls in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) and ii) the effectiveness of micronutrient supplementation interventions for mothers, including adolescent mothers, in LMIC. Additionally, I am involved in a collaborative exercise to explore health and nutrition outcomes among adolescent females through the use of individual participant data from existing nutrition trials. I have experience working and living in East Africa, and am an enthusiastic member of the Countdown to 2030 consortium, a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional collaboration working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
